Trial version now allows up to 3 characters for sending password.

Introduction

Fortress SMS is a phone based application to send and read encrypted SMS text messages. The messages are encrypted prior to transmission and can only be read by the intended recipient on entry of the correct password.

 

Trial version available (fully functional reader but only allows up to 3 characters in the password for outgoing messages. Although the password is processed using standard cryptographic techniques prior to encryption, sending messages using the trial version should NOT be considered secure):

Technical

·        Platform:  Series 60  (Symbian) -  this version is compatible with a number of handsets such as the Nokia 7650  (Current Series 60 Handsets)

·        Platform:  UIQ v2.0 compatible, for example the Sony Ericsson P800/P900 (current UIQ v2.0 compatible handsets)

·        Encryption Algorithm:  Rijndael (128 bit key, 128 bit block) with cipher block chaining (Advanced Encryption Standard compliant).

·        Hash Algorithm:  MD5
